Blockchain 30 era: from EOS to IPFs, who will subvert the trillion market?

From the 1.0 era represented by bitcoin to the 2.0 era represented by Ethereum, blockchain technology has changed from a single spark to a prairie fire, showing great potential in the world. More and more countries regard it as an innovation breakthrough and actively layout it. More and more enterprises also begin to explore various possibilities for the implementation and application of blockchain technology. Blockchain technology is destined to be indispensable in the torrent of the times, After the 1.0 and 2.0 era, what will be the representative of blockchain 3.0 era?. If you raised this question in June 2018, I believe many people will say the answer of EOS.

At that time, when the main network of EOS was launched, both its popularity and the expectations of users reached the peak. EOS claimed that after the main network was launched, TPS (system throughput) would be increased to the level of one million, which was undoubtedly a cross era change for the underlying public chain. Before EOS, the TPS of most public chains was very low. For example, Ethereum, which represents the era of blockchain 2.0, often faced difficulties such as system congestion and high transaction fees. When DAPP game encryption cat was launched, it directly paralyzed the whole network of Ethereum. The frequent occurrence of this situation not only made the user experience extremely poor, but also blocked the future development of the underlying public chain platform, After all, if the Ethereum system can't even hold the small number of users in the early stage, what else can we talk about developing DAPP ecology and promoting it to the world.

However, after the emergence of EOS, these problems seem to be solved easily. High TPS can ensure the stability of transaction fees and DAPP operation. Users and DAPP developers will benefit greatly, and DAPP ecology can also tend to develop healthily. With the increasing impact of blockchain technology on the world, many believers said that EOS will replace its underlying operating systems such as windows in the future. The introduction that EOS led the era of blockchain 3.0 also spread. But the reality is cruel. Up to now, EOS has neither reached the million level TPS it advertises, nor developed a DAPP ecosystem that is sufficient to affect the world. On the contrary, the super node set up to improve system performance is now often criticized as running counter to the decentralization of blockchain. In the year after the main network was launched, EOS experienced events such as smart contract vulnerability, soaring eosram price, EOS node infighting, etc, This constantly erodes the trust and confidence of community members.

In addition to EOS, IPFs (interstellar file system) is also regarded by many people as a seed player representing the blockchain 3.0 era. Unlike bitcoin or Ethereum, IPFs is not a project but a protocol. It targets the hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP), which is now common in the Internet world. IPFs protocol defines how files are stored, indexed and transmitted in a distributed system, and its goal is to connect all devices in the network through a file system. Compared with hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP), IPFs has achieved the following improvements: first, the content on IPFs can hardly be deleted, because its content is not stored in a centralized server, but is divided into fragments and stored on all nodes in the network; Second, IPFs has changed the current situation of always obtaining content from the data center. It eliminates the need for users to go through a large amount of transmission on the Internet backbone, which will greatly reduce the cost of data transmission; Third, decentralized IPFs avoids network attacks such as DDoS and XSS, and reduces the risk of users.

At present, one of the biggest problems of blockchain is that it cannot store a large amount of data, because theoretically all nodes need to store all data. However, using IPFs protocol, users can only write the links and timestamps in IPFs to the unchangeable blockchain, so as to achieve the purpose of using blockchain to store data safely. Tauruschain (Taurus) is the leader in the practice of this application. Tauruschain draws lessons from the architecture technology of IPFs, but it has made a comprehensive transformation of IPFs, from the identification of node ID to bitswap exchange strategy and punishment measures, as well as optimized design of coraldsht algorithm and merkledag data.

In terms of incentive mechanism, tauruschain does not use filecoin advocated by IPFs. Instead, based on a decentralized mechanism, tauruschain public chain based on pow/pos manages taurustoken. After the IPFs protocol is combined with projects such as tauruschain, users can use IPFs to process a large amount of data, and then store the corresponding encrypted hash in the blockchain and timestamp it. In this way, there is no need to put the data itself on the chain, which can not only save the network bandwidth of the blockchain, but also effectively protect it. Such a combination can play a great role in copyright protection and product traceability.

Both windows, which is benchmarked by EOS, and HTTP, which is benchmarked by IPFs, rely on a huge market of hundreds of millions of levels, and the market is the most fair. Therefore, Xiaobian believes that in this wave of blockchain development, who can take the lead in eating the cake of the market, who is qualified to be called the representative of blockchain 3.0 era, EOS and IPFs, who will you prefer?.
